the Reign

ministries hub

We want to see a movement of discipleship happening across Dorset. We are partnering with Reign Ministries to start a local Youth Ministry Training Hub for discipleship training.

When you join our Youth Ministry Training Hub you will be placed within one of our local partner churches. Here you will practice youth ministry whilst being coached and trained.

Reign Ministries (alongside ForMission College who deliver the degree), will equip you with all you need for a life of ministry.

The BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry, specialising in Youth Work provides you with a balance of theology, practical teaching, personal study and practice (which we call ‘work-based learning’ or WBLP, at one of our local partner churches or organisations).

This is a three-year degree awarded by Birmingham Newman University.  There is also a four-year option with a Foundation year that gives extra teaching and preparation for university level studies. Students may be eligible for student loans towards their tuition and maintenance.

Learning is facilitated through a combination of:

  • Weekly online degree classes delivered by ForMission College.

  • Two residential conferences in September and April, where we will join with the Reign Ministries team and other Hubs from across the UK, for youth ministry training and fellowship. Conferences are an opportunity to deepen your youth ministry knowledge and skills. They are also a key time to grow in your relationships both with God and with other students.

  • Weekly clusters where you will find support and leadership training from a trained coach. This is a space not only to gain practical training that enhances your degree experience, but also a space to receive support and prayer from both your leader and other students.

  • Attend the National Youth for Christ staff Conference.

  • Having to the opportunity to be involved in the day to day running of the Resound youth event.

Join what God is doing and stirring up amongst young people across Dorset, as you are trained and equipped to work with churches bringing the gospel to our region.

Jake, our senior youth worker, says, “Equipping yourself in biblical studies and further leadership training, shouldn’t just be an afterthought or a temporary nice idea, but rather the constant goal for a growing disciple of Jesus.”

If you’re a church leader and would be interested in finding out more about raising up one of your young people or hosting a student, or you’re interested in doing the course for yourself, then contact us below or email us at training@dorsetyfc.co.uk
